First three yachts arrive at the Phuket quarantine anchorage
Following the announcement that crew can now quarantine on board their vessels in Thailand the first three yachts have arrived at the quarantine anchorage near the island of Ko Nakha Noi just off Phuket. This morning the four crew of the three yachts were given their first Covid-19 tests.
These first three boats have been in Thailand for some time but have been unable to check in as they left their previous ports of call before lockdown and arrived in Thailand after it had gone into lockdown. More yachts in the same circumstances are expected to join them over the coming days.
All vessels which are currently outside Thailand waters and wish to enter must apply in advance to enter the kingdom through a registered Thai agent. All crew must have a medical certificate and health insurance for at least 100,000 US dollars covering Covid-19.
As with the boats that have already arrived at the anchorage all crew must report their temperature twice daily and undergo 3 separate tests for Covid-19.
There are three registered agents able to handle the entry process. They are as follows.
